Design
with Soul

Each work is accompanied by a small notebook kept in a compartment carved in wood, where inspirations, images of immersions and stories of the artisans involved and their regions are shared. Some pages are left blank, an invitation for the story to continue to be told and passed from generation to generation.

About
the parts

“Handmade” is one of Yankatu’s pillars, which combines the appreciation of regional raw materials, the preservation of the environment and the intangible wealth of the Brazilian people, who are so diverse and creative. Instead of taking advantage of the technique and adjusting the artisanal product to the consumer's taste, Yankatu wants to educate the public's eyes and hearts to the beauty and richness that exist in authentic traditional works, in the stories they carry and the connections they provide. .

Design or art? It doesn't matter. What matters is that the works achieve their objectives, communicating the countless possibilities that exist of adding without subtracting, of sharing without competing, of being one and being many.

Multidisciplinarity and the different ways of applying knowledge are enriching. Maria Fernanda does not limit herself to the conception of products and art, expanding her research and development to other fields of creation, always seeking to value and rescue ancestry, traditions and craftsmanship.
